We are Lucy Walter and Gary Clements, partners in business and life for more than 30 years.
Over the years, we have built a portfolio of online businesses and digital assets designed to create flexible, sustainable income without relying entirely on the number of hours we could personally work.
Directory websites became an important part of that portfolio.
We could see the potential clearly. A well-built directory can serve a local area or specialised niche, attract ongoing search traffic, support businesses and create several different income opportunities.
What we had not fully appreciated was just how much work it would take to build one properly.

Like many directory owners, we assumed creating the website would be the biggest challenge.
It was not.
The real work began once the site was ready.
We needed to find suitable businesses, check their details, organise the information, create individual listings, upload images and keep everything accurate as businesses opened, closed or changed.
Then came the outreach.
Businesses needed to know they had been listed. Someone had to contact them, explain the directory, invite them to claim or improve their listing and follow up when they did not respond.

The business model still made sense, but the amount of repetitive work behind it was becoming difficult to justify.
A directory might have the potential to become a valuable digital asset, but getting it to that point could consume hundreds of hours.
We tried different tools, systems and methods of delegating the work.
Some helped with individual tasks, but many simply gave us another platform to learn, another process to manage or another layer of manual checking.
Most directory software focused on helping people build the website itself.
Very little addressed the ongoing work of finding relevant businesses, creating quality listings, keeping the directory growing, and managing outreach in a structured way.
We did not need another tool that still left us doing most of the work.
We needed a practical system that reduced the workload.
After a great deal of testing, refining, problem-solving, and more than a few frustrations, that system became Fuellyt.

Fuellyt was not created because we went looking for a software idea.
It grew from a problem we were already experiencing in our own businesses.
We knew what it felt like to spend hours adding listings when we should have been working on strategy, partnerships and revenue.
We understood the frustration of seeing the potential in a directory while knowing its growth was limited by the number of hours available in the week.
We also understood why so many new directories struggle to gain momentum. Launching an empty or thinly populated website makes it difficult to attract visitors, build credibility or create meaningful opportunities for the businesses being featured.
Fuellyt became the system we wished we had when we first began building directories.
Fuellyt is for people who can see the potential of a directory but do not want it to become another full-time job.
That may be someone who already owns a directory and has reached the limit of what they can manage manually.
It may be someone preparing to launch a new directory who does not want to spend months filling an empty site.
Or it may be an online business owner looking to add a directory to a broader portfolio of digital assets.
Whatever the starting point, the challenge is often the same: the idea has potential, but the workload required to build momentum can quickly become overwhelming.
Our goal with Fuellyt is to make that process more manageable.
We believe directory websites can become valuable businesses, but we do not believe in pretending they are effortless or instantly passive.
A successful directory still needs a clear niche, a useful audience, relevant listings and a thoughtful approach to growth and monetization.
The right systems can remove much of the repetitive work that prevents owners from focusing on higher-value areas.
That is the thinking behind Fuellyt.
It is about helping directory owners spend less time buried in listing administration and more time building the audience, relationships and opportunities that make their directory valuable.
Fuellyt grew from our own experience, but it was created for people facing the same challenge.
People who believe in the directory model.
People who want to build something useful.
And people who know their time is better spent growing the business than manually entering one listing after another.
That is why we built Fuellyt.
All packages include setup, listing creation and ongoing growth.
